Bush Not In Charge.....

Okay....so last night, Former President Carter said this in an interview after his speech to the DNC:

I don't know really to what degree President Bush is the leader among that inner circle when they congregate in the Oval Office to make basic decisions about what to do.

It may be that Vice President Cheney is the dominating voice. Or it might be that in military affairs, maybe Secretary Rumsfeld is the dominant voice. But it's a coalition of leaders who collectively have not maintained the integrity of our government and its commitment to human rights in our life. And I don't think there's any doubt that some of the statements, public statements, made by Vice President Cheney have been very disturbing as they led up to the torture, for instance....

Ummmm....isn't that kinda bad? A former president saying that he's unsure the current president is actually making a decision? Isn't that what he was, presumably...ahem...elected to do?

Well.... I saw nothing about it in the media today. I saw Katie Couric driving around Boston with Ben Affleck.... I guess that's more important.

Okay, yes, this is very disturbing. About Katie and Ben...I'm sure a real journalist would have followed up on this. But since the mainstream media is made up of cowards who take orders from the powers that be, it's better for them to ignore any negative publicity about the current administration and report instead on what or who Ben is doing now. It's unbelievable. It really is. Just my opinion.
